Surfers Paradise is a major holiday beach destination and certainly much more active and busier than Byron Bay. Both are worth the visit and spending some time at. It reminded me much of Waikiki Beach with numerous restaurants, shopping, beach and much more!

If you are in Brisbane and looking to hit the beach, but don't have a car, Surfers Paradise is a good option. It can be reached by Greyhound bus or train from Brisbane in under two hours. The powder soft sand and stunning blues of the sea contrast with the backdrop of skyscrapers. Looking to learn how to surf? Try a surf class. A great day trip from Brissy to disconnect.
