Transportation to Rome
Description
Rome, the 'Eternal City', is the capital and largest city of Italy and of the Lazio (Latium) region. It's the famed city of the Roman Empire, the Seven Hills, La Dolce Vita (sweet life), the Vatican City and Three Coins in the Fountain. Rome, as a millennium-long centre of power, culture and religion, having been the centre of one of the globe's greatest civilizations ever, has exerted a huge influence over the world in its circa 2500 years of existence. Today, Rome has a growing nightlife scene and is also seen as a shopping heaven, being regarded as one of the fashion capitals of the world (some of Italy's oldest jewellery and clothing establishments were founded in the city). With so many sights and things to do, Rome can truly be classified a "global city".

Rome Travel Tips & Reviews
While Rome is a tourist hotspot and very rich in culture, it was not for me. The streets and attractions were always overcrowded and I have never felt more uncomfortable traveling than I did in Rome. I was constantly worried about being stolen from and having my drinks spiked in a hotel bar didn't help. I will say the food was magnificent; I've never tasted better pasta elsewhere!
Read about Rome on my blog →Rome was very historical and touristy. It was all about the sites for this city. You have to see every site because, come on, you can't go to Rome and not see the Coliseum. Make sure you make time to eat everything you possibly can and enjoy all the piazzas around the city. They are so lively and full of culture!
Read about Rome on my blog →I have a love/hate memory of Rome. The culture, architecture and history cannot be replicated. Highly recommend you do a Walks of Italy tour of the Colosseum & Roman Forum - having someone narrate makes it come to life. Vatican City is also a must do, although a hassle. Book a tour in advance so you can compare prices or else you'll spend literally all day in line. Rome is so large, but we stayed near Roma Termini Station for convenience. We walked most places because the subway is packed.
Dont listen to the haters. Rome is worth it! Yes its touristy, yes you'll pay premium prices and yes its almost like disneyland. But the only reason that its so full is because its worth it. With some forward planning of staying in the right area and pre planning attractions it can all be worth it. Read the post on our blog to see our recommendation on where to stay, you wont regret it!
