Transportation to Paris

Paris has the reputation of being the most beautiful and romantic of all cities, brimming with historic associations and remaining vastly influential in the realms of culture, art, fashion, food and design. Dubbed the City of Light (la Ville Lumière) and Capital of Fashion, it is home to some of the world's finest and most luxurious fashion designers and cosmetics, such as Chanel and Clarins. A large part of the city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city has the second highest number of Michelin-starred restaurants in the world (after Tokyo) and contains numerous iconic landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, Notre-Dame de Paris, making it one of the most popular international tourist destinations in the world, with around 14 million tourists annually.

Paris Travel Tips & Reviews

Feb 28, 2016

One of my most favorite cities, Paris is a classic traveler's dream. It's easy to get lost for a few days taking in the history and culture. Definitely do not miss it if you are in France.

Sorry, Ben but I have to disagree. Our experience in Paris was very disappointing. We were constantly accosted by street vendors and locals were quite rude (perhaps because we know no French?). However, the Louvre is incredible and almost made up for how expensive the city is. The subway was very difficult for us to navigate so we opted for walking. Keep in mind most of the city is closed on Sunday and check to see what days the Louvre and Catacombs are open before planning your stay.

Paris is busy for a reason. Because its amazing. People say the locals are rude, they're not. If you can at least say excuse me in french they'll be more than helpful (this goes for everywhere you visit, make an effort!). People complain the tourist sites are busy, they are, but get up earlier and beat the crowds! Others complain that its expensive, yes it is. But with some planning its definitely achievable. For a two day walking tour of the sites click through to our blog post :)
