Lalibela Travel Tips & Reviews
Lalibela packs a mighty punch. The hype is justified, and the exorbitant prices actually do reflect the small town’s value. It's really one big dirt road across two mountain ridges. There is very little in the way of construction or infrastructure, save for several large and luxurious hotels for foreigners. Only two roads lead to Lalibela, both of which are unpaved and in very poor condition. But because the churches are so lively and expansive, you’ll spend all your time in them anyway.
